• National Bank of Greece

NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE (NBG) is the oldest and largest among Greek banks, and with total Assets in excess of 50 billion Euros, it heads the strongest financial group in Greece . It has around 600 domestic branches and 250 branches in four continents, and is listed in both the Athens Stock Exchange and the NYSE.

Our partnership with NBG started in the year 2000, with the installation of our RV Market© system. This installation contributed significantly to the bank's modernization since for the first time it was able to measure the Value-at-Risk arising from its complex positions in financial instruments, based on its trading positions on various centers around the world. This analysis is since then being reported daily to senior management and forms an important section in its annual review. The system is being used today with high efficiency.
Fundamental criteria for its selection were the fully transparent and at the same time complete quantitative methodology, the brief time that was required to complete the installation, the ease of covering new requirements (customization), its competitive cost at all levels, the possibility of immediate installation to its local and international subsidiaries allowing pro-active Risk Management and deeper involvement.

NBG was the first bank in Greece to have applied and obtained approval from the Central Bank to evaluate its capital adequacy for market risks based on "internal models" provided by the RiskValue system.

In 2003, our cooperation with the group was further extended with the installation of the RV Exchanges©system to National Securities, NBG's brokerage subsidiary. The system provides National Securities with the ability to follow in real time the potential risk, returns and exposure of all its customer portfolios.
